There are no bigger heroes than those who have enough civic pride to make their community a centerpiece and destination for activities they love.
Triangle Volleyball Club, a local youth volleyball organization, single-handedly created its own regional volleyball tournament in Raleigh’s brand new convention center! Courts were rented, teams were invited from around the Southeast and–just eight weeks later– people came by the thousands!
This was a huge, unexpected infusion of business to our local hotels, restaurants and the Center’s concessions. In other words, instant economic stimulus. Which in our minds is nothing short of heroic.
